To participate, you will be asked to submit the following information and agree to our terms and conditions:
1. Brief background of the situation.
2. The original message from your ex-partner.
3. Your attempt to decipher or "decode" the message.
4. Your proposed response to the message.
5. Your legal name and contact information (for our records only; not to be publicized)
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
By submitting the above information, you (“Releasee”) are agreeing to the following
terms and conditions.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1. RIGHTS. Releasee grants The Rule Book Academy, LLC (“Author”) (and
Author’s assignees and designees), the exclusive right and license to use the
information submitted above (the “Submission”) in Author’s upcoming book, or any
future work created by Author (the “Book”), in any manner without limitation.
2. CREDIT. Author is under no obligation to use the Submission, however, if the
Submission is used by Author in the Book, Author will provide credit to the Releasee for
their submission by utilizing the Releasee’s first name and last initial/ [or anonymously]
will be under no obligation to provide credit to the Releasee.
3. REPRESENTATIONS AND INDEMNITY. Releasee represents and warrants
that: (a) Releasee is the sole owner of the Submission, or solely controls the rights to
the Submission and is free to enter into this Agreement and to grant the rights in this
Agreement without the approval of any other person or entity, and (b) the Submission
does not infringe on or violate any law or infringe on any third party’s rights, including,
without limitation, any copyrights or rights of privacy or publicity. Releasee indemnifies
Author for any breach or alleged breach of Releasee’s representations and warranties.
4. RELEASE. You hereby release Author, its officers, employees, agents, and
successors from claims, demands any and all losses, damages, rights, claims, and
actions of any kind that is either directly or indirectly related to or arising from the
Submission. If you are a California resident, you hereby waive California Civil Code
Section 1542, which states: " A general release does not extend to claims that the
creditor or releasing party does not know or suspect to exist in his or her favor at the
time of executing the release and that, if known by him or her, would have materially
affected his or her settlement with the debtor or released party.
5. MISCELLANEOUS
5.1 ASSIGNMENT. This right conveyed to Author may be freely assigned by Author but may
only be assigned by Releasee with Author’s prior written approval.
5.2 GOVERNING LAW; VENUE. These Terms and Conditions and any claim arising hereunder
shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California,
without giving effect to any conflict or choice of law provision that would result in the
imposition of another states Law. Any claim, action, or suit that arises out of or relates
to right granted by Releasee to Author shall be brought and conducted solely and
exclusively in the State Courts in and for the State of California in San Luis Obispo
County.
